I watched the Monk holiday special on USA. It was a good episode of my favorite obsessive detective, Adrian Monk. Mister Monk as Natalie Teeger calls him was investigating a murder of a homeless man. The homeless man had been running from someone and had told his friends. They brushed it off and called him paranoid. The next day, the three friends went looking for him and found him dead in a fridge. They went to see Mr. Monk who had been putting up his cardboard cut out of a Christmas tree in his apartment. The three homeless men came to his apartment to hire them to investigate the death of their friend, the homeless man. They said they could pay him fourteen dollars in redeemable bottles. At the same time, Lt. randy Disher was running the police station because the Captain was ill with arthritis and could barely walk. People were being healed by a fountain. They would have drink written on their door if they were ill. The people would drink from the fountain and would magically be healed. Leland decided to drink from the fountain and magically could walk. He then decided to join a monastery and take a vow of silence and travel abroad on a missions trip. When Adrian was eating dinner with the homeless men and Julie he confronted them on not having enough money. Three of the bottles were Canadian bottles and could not be redeemed. However, Monk saw that these were from the Captain’s yard and that maybe the Captain had seen the homeless man before his murder. They traveled to see him, but he gave them a good bye letter saying he was leaving for two years. Natalie dragged Adrian to the fountain to drink, they discovered that half of the pill bottles were filled by Owen Chlumsky a pharmacist. His fiance had told them that he had been switching peoples prescriptions to make them sicker and put medicine in the fountain. There was a dead body buried under the fountain so if it was a shrine then it would not be destroyed. Adrian and Natalie told the Captain. He decided to come back to work.

I have heard many experts say that people mimic what they see on the television. I have to say that they are right in some aspects. I see many teenagers who want to emulate their favorite television characters. However, real life is not as easy as television life. If you do something that you see on television like get pregnant then there are consequences. Many teens want to be like the characters on television but they do not understand that real life can be a shock. I mean teenagers especially want to wear the same clothes and do the same things that they see on television. This can put pressure on parents because they cannot always afford the designer clothes and items that teenagers want. Parents need to monitor what their children are watching and talk about any issues that you think need to be addressed. Television will continue to influence children, we as parents need to make sure that we balance the influence of television by being good influences.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving and I watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade with my toddler. It is the first time that he had ever seen the parade. I had not seen the parade in a few years. It used to be a family tradition to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade but being a parent I am usually very busy on Thanksgiving so I cannot watch the parade. I love to see my toddler son’s eyes light up when he sees the floats go by on television. He loves to point at the television when his favorite character floats go by. It is really a cute thing to watch. I love seeing my toddler see things that I like for the first time. Children love the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade so much. I wish that we could attend but it is so cold outside in New York City. I prefer to just watch it at home with my son. I hope someday that my son does the exact same thing with his kids. Do you watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade?

Last night, I watched the Tonight Show on NBC. Jay Leno had a lot of firefighters in his studio audience. Jay Leno always seems to care about people in public service. He had soldiers in his studio audience on Veterans Day and always commends the firefighters in his monologues lately. Jay Leno’s monologue was pretty funny as they always are. I still cannot believe that he won’t be on NBC much longer. I mean Conan O’Brien is not nearly as funny. It makes me bitter because I have watched Jay Leno on the Tonight Show for years. Heidi Klum was the first guest last night. She looked as beautiful as ever. She has a bag of lucky teeth, that was really weird but who am I to judge? She is always so fun and lively. She should get her own talk show. Then, Robert Pattinson was on the show. He talked about his movie and how he has an 1989 BMW. He has interesting hair. Heidi Klum’s husband, who is a singer named Seal, ended the show by singing a song. He is a very good singer and you can tell that he really loves singing and his wife. It was a very good episode.

Last night’s House Episode involved a hostage situation. The episode started with Foreman trying to convince Thirteen to join a medical trial because she has Huntington’s disease. She said no. As usual, Dr. House is snooping through Dr. Cuddy’s desk and office. Then, an emergency room patient named Jason pulled a gun on everyone and holds them hostage in Dr. Cuddy’s office, this includes Doctor House and Thirteen. Jason wants Doctor House to diagnose him because other doctors have not been able to.House tries a test and thinks that Jason has pulmonary sclerdoma. Cuddy is supposed to bring up medication to treat Jason, but Jason ends up shooting someone in the leg. Then, the SWAT team shows up at the hospital. Doctor House speaks to his team and Cameron to help get ideas about what Jason has. Chase refuses to help. Jason pointed a gun at Thirteen and threatened to kill her. Jason then needs blood and an injection, Thirteen volunteered to take Capsasin. Jason tells Thirteen that he thinks she wants to die. He took the syringe and injected himself in the arm. Then, the SWAT team came in and arrested Jason. After that, House took care of Thirteen. She had to be on dialysis because her kidneys were shutting down. At the end, Dr. Cuddy found House’s prank, he had turned her desk drawer upside down. It was a pretty good episode, what did you think?

Last night, I watched CSI Miami. The episode was about women who had been abducted, had a chemical put in their eyes to temporarily blind them, and then were killed using jumper cables. That is a tough way to die. I mean the women had been killed at ten amps, it only takes one amp to kill someone so that is really a torturous death to endure. They had a suspect-Max Paulson who was an eye doctor. He claimed he did not do it, but everyone thought that he had done it. He had been let go after the first murder because they could not link him to the murder. Then, Reggie who is a cop at CSI came into the picture. He is a very aggressive cop who was demoted from homicide because of assaulting Max Paulson. He was then fired from Horatio because he hit Max Paulson, Horatio had said he would reinstate him after the case was closed. Reggie cornered Calleigh in an elevator and was very threatening and intimidating. There were three murdered women and one woman who got away. The one who got away had a fiance who was very overprotective. Reggie killed a girl and put Max Paulson’s hair under her fingers. In the end, the fiance was the one who had abducted his fiance and killed two girls. Reggie went to jail and subsequently committed suicide.

On the nineteenth, I watched Michael Moore on Larry King Live. I was very impressed by Michael Moore’s interview. They were discussing the big three automakers. The big three had gone to Congress asking for bailout money. As we all remember from the news, all three CEO’s took private jets to the bailout meeting and all three said they would not fly home commercial and sell their corporate jets. Michael Moore lives in Flint, Michigan,. He grew up there and his father worked for 30 or 35 years at a GM plant in his hometown. I have to say he was pretty knowledgeable about the issue. I mean he has seen what can happen when manufacturing jobs disappear from your hometown. I mean GM does not care about helping us save money on fuel, they just want to build gas guzzlers that are not good for the environment or our pocketbooks. It was a really great interview. Love him or hate him, Michael Moore’s documentaries always are something to talk about. They force us to discuss issues that affect all of us.

Last night, I watched a rerun of CSI:NY. I have just come to like the show so this older episode was new to me. In this episode, Danny was involved in a shooting in a subway in which an undercover police officer was killed. At the same time, Stella was investigating the murder of a nanny. The nanny worked for a very wealthy family who had a baby. The parents did not even come back to see their child after they had found out that their nanny had been murdered. The nanny had been stealing expensive items from other nannies’s places of employment. The other nannies had been doing the same thing. One of the nannies ended up murdering the girl because she had backed out and put items back in the homes that they had been stolen from. Danny was cleared in the shooting of the police officer. Someone else had killed the off duty police officer. Mac said Danny was off of the promotion grade because he shot erratically and talked to IAB when he was ordered not to by Mac. It was a very good episode.

Last night I watched the Tonight Show. It was an okay episode. Jay Leno’s monologue was somewhat funny. He invited Jay Mohr to be one of his guests. Jay Mohr came out dressed in a pilgrim costume and was carrying a live turkey. It was not something I would wear especially on the Tonight Show. I mean you are trying to promote your CBS show, Gary Unmarried not land a part in a Thanksgiving play on Broadway. Jay Mohr talked about his family and growing up in New Jersey. He talked about taking his family to Medieval Times. I did not find the interview that interesting. I preferred the part before with Steve Schrippa, that guys is very funny and can actually tell alot about people just by looking at them. It is truly amazing. I loved the final segment when Jay Leno cooked with the older woman. She talked and talked and talked. Jay Leno loves meeting older women and getting to know them. He had the fruit cake lady a few years ago and she answered questions and made everyone laugh. It was a decent episode. What did you think?

Jim and Pam are tow characters on the Office played by Jenna Fisher and John Krasinski. They are the original office romance. They started out as just being friends and flirting with each other. Now they are engaged. This week Jim bought Pam a house with an art studio attached to it. I have to say how romantic that is. I mean they are really trying to have a foundation couple on the show and have chosen Pam and Jim to be their go to couple. Dwight and Angela are kind of a couple but she is engaged to Andy but I am sure by the end of this season that Andy and Angela will no longer be engaged. Dwight really does care for Angela but Angela is playing both sides because she thinks people will think less of her for dating Dwight that’s why she didn’t tell everyone in the office that they were dating when they previously dated. Now she is cheating on Andy with Dwight. I do notknow what else they can do with Jim and Pam besides let them get married ,give them a baby, or split them up. What do you think?
